Grumpy grumpy grumpy today!! Don't know why? Down 10.2# now though! Tomorrow is the big fast day. Cranberry juice all day...
Today was our first Saturday without baseball so we just relaxed and did some back to school shopping. I tried to work in the garden for a bit, but it is overloaded with weeds. It needs a couple hours at least....booo!

Feeling amazing. Lots of energy. I have lose 9.2# as of this morning. I can tell that my clothes are a lot looser and John noticed yesterday that my face was thinner. Yesssaaa! One more day (Saturday) of detox and then Sunday is the cranberry juice fast. I am excited about it. I am thinking I am just going to keep eating like this after the detox is over with just a few additions.

Day 4

BREAKFAST

1 Orange
1 Apple
1 cup of cherries

LUNCH

1 small head green leaf lettuce
2 hard boiled eggs
Carrots
Broccoli
Sweet peppers
Celery
Dressing (evoo, lemon juice, garlic, s&p)

DINNER

Sautéed Escarole with olive oil, garlic and s&p
2 pieces broiled salmon with Italian seasonings

Down 7.8# as of this morning. Feeling pretty good today. My headache is gone and I still have a lot of energy. My dinner was amazing last night! It was basically a hot salad. I grilled 2 pieces of salmon with Montreal seasonings in a foil pack, one large beet (chopped into bite size pieces that had been microwaved for 5 minutes) in a separate foil pack with olive oil and pepper and two portabella sliders rubbed with olive oil salt and pepper (no foil). When all of the grilled foods were almost done I very very lightly sautéed 1/3 head of Napa Cabbage, ½ a zucchini, 1 bunch of beet greens, 2 slices of onion and 1 minced clove of garlic in olive oil with salt and pepper. I used the cabbage and the greens as a base and load all of the grilled foods on top. For my dressing I used EVOO, lemon juice, garlic, s&p and I drizzled it all over my salad. It was by far the best salad I have ever had. The beets were so sweet and delicious and the mushroom tastes just like steak to me. I was so happy with myself while I was eating. I can’t wait to make it again. I am going to have to play around with this hot salad idea.

Detox is going really good so far! I have tried “detoxing” before but never like this with some much veg! I really like this!!!

Day 3

BREAKFAST

2 hardboiled eggs
1 orange
1 apple
½ cup cherries
Detox tea
Psyllium husk

LUNCH

Large bowl artichoke soup with cilantro
1 cup mini sweet peppers

DINNER

2 grilled portabellas
1 roasted beet
1/3 head shredded Napa cabbage
chopped beet greens
Dressing (olive oil, lemon juice, s&p, garlic)
Large piece of salmon
Psyllium husks
Detox tea

I still have a slight headache today. No big deal. According to the scale this morning I am down 6.2#! That’s exciting, but I still don’t believe it. I will believe it if it keeps up for a few more days. I feel a lot lighter though. I have had a ton of energy the past 2 days which is different than how I had been feeling! Today I keep feeling warm almost like I have a fever. I don’t know if that’s a coincidence or from the detox?

Day 2

DAY 2

BREAKFAST

2 organic eggs cooked in 1 tsp olive oil
1 orange
1 apple
1 cup detox tea
Psyllium Husks
Water

LUNCH

Blackened Salmon
Large Green Salad
Olive Oil and balsamic

DINNER

Detox Artichoke Soup with chopped cilantro
Sautéed broccoli & garlic
Psyllium Husks

Today I am a little worried because I have to eat lunch out at a restaurant for work. I looked at the menu ahead of time and the best I could find was salmon with salad. Hopefully it doesn’t have a negative effect on my detox. So far I think it’s going pretty good. I had a headache last night and this morning, which could be from the caffeine withdrawal. Hopefully after the detox is over I won’t feel like I need caffeine anymore. Although, I would be a little sad to give up my morning cup of coffee. According to the scale I had lost 3 pounds in 1 day! I don’t know if I trust that or not, but it was good to see for a little motivation.

Detox

I have decided to do a 10 day detox. I just feel tried and sluggish all the time and I am hoping that this will help! It’s basically the “Fast Track Detox” except that I am only doing it for 10 days instead of 11 (was supposed to start it yesterday but woke up with a terrible headache and needed my coffee). It’s basically going to be 6 days of tons of fruit, veggies, lean protein and water water water. Then it’s 1 day of pure cranberry juice followed by 3 more days that are the same as the first 6 days except I will also be eating plain yogurt with probiotics (I am using Kefir). I hope that at the end of the 10 days I will be reenergized & cleaned out, hopefully lost a few pounds and be ready to get back on with a healthy vegan lifestyle.

Day 1 Menu

BREAKFAST
1 Apple, 1 Orange, 2 sugar plums (I am eating these about 1 fruit every hour)
2 cups water
1 cup Yogi Detox Tea
Psyllium Husks

LUNCH
1 baby head of red leaf lettuce
6 mini sweet peppers
¼ c cilantro
¼ cup fresh Vidalia onion salsa
1 hardboiled organic egg
2 tbsp homemade vinaigrette (olive oil, lime juice, S&P, Minced Garlic)

DINNER
1 large piece of wild caught sockeye salmon
2 cups roasted Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic, S&P
Psyllium Husks

SNACK
Kale Chips

I will update each day with my menu, weight loss and any signs that I have that the detox is actually working!!!
