I need practice at titles title

Title is a funny word if you say it too many times.

I can never think of a catchy title. I need to work on it asap.

Tonight I am trying my hand at making vegan garlic scape pesto. I am bringing it to a ladies dinner party that I am going to tomorrow. I am very exited to make the vegan parm!! I am going to have pasta for dinner tonight just so I can eat it.

One of these days I am going to learn how to blog for real. I have no clue how to link my reference to other blogs or to get other people to actually read my blog? Probably if I wasn't trying to squeeze my post into my lunch break I would be better at it.

1 Stevia packet
½ cup frozen blueberries
2 chunks banana

SNACK

Wheat Bagel (plain)

Ezekiel wrap
Homemade black bean burger
Pineapple Salsa

The black bean burgers that I had for lunch was a recipe from Angela at Oh She Glows. They were the best homemade black bean burgers I have ever made. It was so good with the pineapple salsa! I wish I had brought two with me to work! Tonight I am trying a new recipe by Dr. Dean Ornish....Mushroom Stroganoff. It sounds like it's going to be delish.

This was a great weekend. They always o by so fast though. Football coaches party on Friday night, Park Ave Fest on Saturday and dinner at a friend’s and then Eclipse with a girl friend yesterday. I really liked Eclipse. I think these movies keep getting better and better. I can’t wait for the next one. Tonight while Josh and John are at football Caleb and I are going to start cleaning out the basement. Hasn’t had a whole over hall in a couple of years. It’s going to be quite the chore, ugh.

Days 7, 8, 9 & 10

Ooops, haven't blogged in a bit. So the fast that was supposed to be on Sunday didn’t work out exactly as planned. We hosted an impromptu bbq and several shots of rum somehow ended up in the cranberry juice that I was using for the fast. I ended up doing the fast on Monday, but I probably wrecked the whole detox thing by drinking the rum. Oh well. I gained back a couple of pounds but that last 2 days have been back on and have evened out to 8# loss so far. This is the last official day of the detox. Tomorrow I will be back to eating pretty much vegan (debating on the wild caught fish…???) and counting calories, ughhhh.

BREAKFAST

1 Apple
1 cup Kefir with blueberries and cherries

SNACK

¼ cup chick peas with Cajun Seasoning

LUNCH

2 piece salmon
1 medium squash
2 cups salad greens
*Plain-no dressing

DINNER

2 hardboiled eggs

This has been the first week of Josh’s football conditioning. Means for late nights and late dinners. The boys don’t usually get home until 9:00. I try and eat whatever I am going to have right when I get home from work so I’m not eating so late. I have been walking everyday with my mom or a friend while they are at football just to get a little extra workout in.

Day 4

BREAKFAST

1 Orange
1 Apple
1 cup of cherries

LUNCH

1 small head green leaf lettuce
2 hard boiled eggs
Carrots
Broccoli
Sweet peppers
Celery
Dressing (evoo, lemon juice, garlic, s&p)

DINNER

Sautéed Escarole with olive oil, garlic and s&p
2 pieces broiled salmon with Italian seasonings

Down 7.8# as of this morning. Feeling pretty good today. My headache is gone and I still have a lot of energy. My dinner was amazing last night! It was basically a hot salad. I grilled 2 pieces of salmon with Montreal seasonings in a foil pack, one large beet (chopped into bite size pieces that had been microwaved for 5 minutes) in a separate foil pack with olive oil and pepper and two portabella sliders rubbed with olive oil salt and pepper (no foil). When all of the grilled foods were almost done I very very lightly sautéed 1/3 head of Napa Cabbage, ½ a zucchini, 1 bunch of beet greens, 2 slices of onion and 1 minced clove of garlic in olive oil with salt and pepper. I used the cabbage and the greens as a base and load all of the grilled foods on top. For my dressing I used EVOO, lemon juice, garlic, s&p and I drizzled it all over my salad. It was by far the best salad I have ever had. The beets were so sweet and delicious and the mushroom tastes just like steak to me. I was so happy with myself while I was eating. I can’t wait to make it again. I am going to have to play around with this hot salad idea.

Detox is going really good so far! I have tried “detoxing” before but never like this with some much veg! I really like this!!!
